Evermore
Pictures by Sir Howard Hodgkin
Text by Julian Barnes
Evermore is the first artist’s book to be
published by Palawan Press. It brings together Howard Hodgkin and Julian
Barnes, joining the talents of a remarkable painter and novelist. The
story by Julian Barnes is taken from his collection, Cross Channel.
Howard Hodgkin responds to this haunting story of an Englishwoman’s
obsessive visits to her brother’s First World War grave in France with
etchings and hand colourings, interspersed within the text.
